The fanciful, hand carved mask on our label came from Mexico (smuggled in a golf bag) more than a dozen years ago. The face reminded me of a beloved longtime mentor, so we named him ‘BIG BOB’ in his honor. We found the perfect location for ‘BIG BOB’ high on the outside of the cellar where he looks out over the winery and vineyard and keeps us all smiling — the red lips were my idea at his christening (it’s real lipstick)!
